Fear can start to limit your life.

Phobias and fear responses are not always logical.

You may know that something is safe, yet still feel overwhelmed, panicked, frozen, avoidant, or emotionally flooded when faced with certain situations, environments, sensations, or experiences.

Fear responses can begin to affect travel, driving, relationships, medical appointments, work, social situations, or everyday life.

Over time, life can start becoming smaller around the fear.

It can feel frustrating, exhausting, and difficult to explain to other people, especially when part of you knows the reaction feels bigger than the situation itself.

But things really can begin to feel different.

You may notice yourself:

• avoiding situations that trigger fear, panic, or discomfort
• overthinking or preparing excessively before certain situations
• feeling trapped, panicked, frozen, or emotionally overwhelmed
• experiencing strong physical anxiety responses even when you logically know you are safe
• rearranging your life around certain fears or triggers
• feeling embarrassed or frustrated by the intensity of your reactions
• struggling to stop the fear response once it starts
• feeling exhausted from constantly anticipating or managing anxiety

Sometimes insight alone is not enough.

Many people living with phobias or intense fear responses already understand logically that they are safe, yet their body and emotional reactions continue responding as though there is danger.

Along with relational therapy, I also integrate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing to support deeper emotional processing and lasting change.

EMDR can help reduce or remove the intensity of fear responses, panic, emotional overwhelm, and experiences that continue to feel emotionally charged or difficult to move through.

Therapy can help fears begin to feel more manageable and less controlling over daily life.
