Do you ever feel like there really aren’t enough hours in the day to do what you need to do?
I think we all experience that from time to time and it can be very overwhelming when you feel that every second of your day is being eaten up by your never ending to-do list.
However, this can be solved by more effective time management, and it’s something that all business and private practice owners can benefit from. Ultimately, time is money, and so you want to be making the best use of your time as possible. By using your time more wisely in your business, you’ll be able to spend more time doing the things you love so it really is win-win.
Here are a few of my tips to use your time more effectively and create a more balanced and stress-free lifestyle.
Delegate the things you don’t need to do
There comes a point when you’ve established your private practice and you can afford to start delegating. Do you really need to be answering the phone personally and responding to every email inquiry, or can you hire an assistant or secretary to do that for you?
Do you have time to master marketing techniques and web design, or can you hire a company to take care of that in a fraction of the time? Delegate what you don’t absolutely need to do so you’re able to use your time more effectively.
If you’re only scheduling in your client appointments at the moment, try taking things a step further and scheduling things like lunch breaks, invoices and contracts, client follow-ups and other tasks that take up a lot of your time. That way, you’ll be more inclined to stick to a schedule as things will be more concrete in your diary and you’ll be able to see exactly what you have to get done in any given day.
Set yourself goals
Every practice needs to have goals, whether it’s daily goals, monthly goals, or 5-yearly goals. Working with a biz success coach is a fantastic way of evaluating your progress and your business and setting yourself new aspirations so you can create a timeline and use your time more effectively to work towards your goal.
Create strict working hours
One of the hardest things for entrepreneurs is knowing when to close the book on your day and take time out for your personal life. By creating strict boundaries in terms of your working hours and days off, you’ll only have a set amount of time to get things done so you’ll likely be much more productive and use your time more wisely.
